Wow…thats all I could think. Over the past years while looking for answers about scientific subjects I was introduced to something called “Electrical Cosmology” and “Plasma Cosmology”. At the same time I was studying the life and research of Nikola Tesla. I recommend interested persons to do their own study on these subjects, I don’t have the space or time to elaborate on these at this hour.
In a nutshell it turns out, almost every thing about astronomy I’ve learned since I was a small boy was completely false. Not only that but my reverence for Einstein and his work, that started at an early age as well, has been misguided. The main points of his theory are absolutely unproven. And under careful scrutiny contain serious errors. Not so much in the math (although that has been pointed out), but in the way it was used. Tesla, who most people don’t know was probably the greatest mathematical mind in the last thousand years, pointed out that his equations were complete nonsense. They look impressive but there is nothing behind them. There is a lot more to find if one spends time studying this subject. The important point here is, I’m convinced.
So tonight, while reading the script for Superman (1978), I came across the following:
“..which Einstein called his Theory
of Relativity, mistakenly held to be correct until the year …”
Wow.
I spent a wonderful evening at the ER. Tooth pain had been searing through my jaw and into my mind. I’ve spent a week going back and forth to the dentist and had a root canal this afternoon. I’m by no means a stranger to tooth decay and all that goes with it. But this time I couldn’t take it. I’ve been in pain since last Monday (Over a week ago). I thought by seeing the dentist as soon as the pain started I would avoid super excruciating pain. Haha, well I was wrong about that one.
They said they couldn’t find anything “emergency” wise. And to follow up with the dentist. At least they gave me a shot of morphine.
I’ve missed way too much work, even still I’m worried I’ll be out tomorrow too. Hopefully the fresh set of painkillers I got will quell my distress.
Yesterday, after 10 years, I finally got one of my keyboards back. It’s a Roland EM-10. It’s nothing compared to anything of its time or today, just mainly sentimental value. It has MIDI so I’ll probably just plug it into my laptop for the time being.

Anjali is very happy about her new sister Navi as you can see here!

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
I saw this while on CNN.
They make the assertion that people in high places prey on the naive.
“Radical Leaders Prey on the Fearful and Naive”
Wait a second… is that Marx? No, it’s a picture of Lenin. Of course who cares right? Karl Marx never held a state office! He was a political philosopher. He spent a great deal of his life researching the ends of economics. They confuse him with Vladimir Lenin, the revolutionary leader that absconded with Marx’s ideas and twisted them into his own maniacal fantasy.
In this instance the Tea Party of that district is itself fearful and naive.

It seems that everyone is getting a touch screen phone lately. I can’t think of anyone I know that does not have a phone with a keypad. You would think this to be a great sign of progress. But wait. I’m sure that once, after washing your hands or coming out of the shower, you’ve attempted to use your phone. Even though your hands may be only slightly damp, its enough to wreak havoc on the touch screen. And when I say wreak havoc, I mean going into a mad frenzy because you can’t get the darn thing to respond to your most basic requests.
This is OK if your just trying to call your girlfriend or Aunt May, but consider this situation. It’s late at night, your disoriented from that 14 hour day you’ve put in. The roads are slick, you lose control of your vehicle, and wrap yourself around a tree at 80 miles on hour. Now, your bleeding grievously but for the moment you are still conscious. You desperately pull the phone from your pocket and attempt to place an emergency call. You frantically make gestures on the screen but it does not recognize your input. Blood is everywhere, you rub your jeans but its no use they’re soaked. In mad desperation you flail your hands wildly at the dash. It’s too late though, keeping your eyes open is an increasing burden. As you slip into unconsciousness, you hear the howls of ravenous wolves, and the laughter of the Jackal.

Today because my daughter had become suddenly ill, I found myself at the local Grocer at 11:00pm. Of course that in itself is nothing new, except this is the first time i’ve been to a grocery store this late in the country. When I say country I mean, for lack of a better phrase, the suburb of the suburbs.
As I made my way about the store I noticed a few others in my company. A man staring aimlessly into a shelf of beans. A woman and her two children wearing matching shirts. A man on a electric cart looking at the frozen cooler, himself frozen into a position of deep thought. I said to myself, “he must be trying to decide between crinkle or homestyle fries”.
When we made our way through the exit, a woman passed who had the look of someone through it all. Her face was expressionless as the others. At that moment the following popped into my head, “The People that Time Forgot”. While I chuckled to myself I thought, “I’m wrong, there here to be forgotten.” Each one probably embracing the idea of late night shopping in virtual solitude.

I don’t understand the hate some people have of the ipad/phone. If you don’t like it, just buy something else.
I think where all this anger comes from is the reality check when you realize their isn’t an Open Source device thats so easy to use. No matter how much you tell yourself otherwise, Apple makes the easiest most intuitive stuff on the planet.
So, if they want to charge you an arm and a leg for it, then sure, why not? Go to your open platform and make it easy to use…oh wait that won’t happen because there are thousands of chefs makin that salad.
There should be a term for this… maybe Apple envy.
Apple Envy
To desire the high quality of an Apple product or interface in an open source product. This is usually displayed as aggression or unusually negative position about an Apple product by an open source zealot.
I can’t believe you got an Iphone, it’s a closed platform. I have an Android because it is open source.

So much has been happening. I hadn’t posted in so long because I didn’t think anybody ever read this…lol. I’ve been taking pictures as usual all year, including paid events. To a limited extent I’m for hire but now I’m focused on preparing myself to create a feature film. I’m hoping that I will be able to enter it into the Austin Film Festival.
I’ve written several treatments but have had a hard time narrowing the choices down. Seems like the ideas I like the most require the biggest budgets. For now though, it looks like they will be very few actors, locations and props. I wanted to shoot with an Arri 535 but it looks like I’m stuck with my HV30. From my photography background I know that the lenses and lighting will be essential in conveying the mood for my film. So I’m going to see if any of the 35mm adapters will work in my case. Lighting will be from Home Depot. I will be setting up a new site devoted to my films in the near future, so be looking out for that.
To those that don’t know, I’ve been uploading my pictures here, http://lifeonthecurb.com/photos. I’m in the process of uploading my older photos to http://lifeonthecurb.com/archive/photos.
Facebook has been taking a beating lately, and rightly so. If you haven’t already read the excerpts from the CEO’s frank conversations with his peers, do it now. http://gizmodo.com/5538489/19+year+old-facebook-ceo-didnt-take-your-privacy-seriously-either
This is regarding his break ins to email accounts. http://www.businessinsider.com/mark-zuckerbergs-and-privacy-crimes-2010-3.
I’m looking for a way out of Facebook. The best thing about it is that it helps people connect who would not have otherwise been able to. I’ve pondered creating one from scratch but I don’t think I have the heart yet.
In the meantime I’ll be uploading those old pictures for the archive.

Last week was the 2009 Bayou Culture Festivel at UHD. I was able to get a few pictures of the action, and some food as well. Miguel and Lorenzo were there as well, Franklin was for a while but then he ran away. Pictures will be here, http://lifeonthecurb.com/photos/, under the menu UHD Bayou Culture 2009. A not so good panorama is here, http://lifeonthecurb.com/UHD_bayou_culture.jpg. Also, I’ve posted a few of the edits I did here in this gallery.
KBR was convicted of bribing Nigerian officials for contracts worth 6 billion. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090212/ap_on_bi_ge/kbr_bribery. Yet they were only fined 400 million. So I guess Haliburton/KBR execs could argue that’s the cost of doing business.
I downloaded the latest software bomb from MS, the Windows 7 beta. It wasn’t as exciting as I had anticipated. I was hoping the install would spice up my afternoon, but was promptly let down. First the install hung until I realized that it wanted to be connected to the net. Then the built in partitioning tool insisted on creating a 200MB partition. So its divided into System and Primary. Go figure. Maybe I should say “Go Fish” though, because thats what greets you once the installer has finished. Yes, a fish. One lone Goldfish looking … fish.

I don’t know maybe I shouldn’t have expected an OS to be a cure for my depression. Oh well. It’s stable enough so far though. For some reason though it wants to pool memory along with my video card. I thought that was something only done in laptops, because of hardware memory limitations of the video card. Instead I guess its part of a larger Microficial movement aimed at abolishing the idea of dedicated RAM on your video card. It’s much better to have the system share its RAM.
A colleague of mine said I was sniffing glue, ok well he didnt say that but I think I remember the words crazy and delusional. Anyways here is the screenshot.

Yesterday, we spent some time at my grandmothers house visiting relatives and launching a model rocket (several times). A short clip is here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBzIUa-6lXU&feature=channel_page. Also pictures are here, http://lifeonthecurb.com/photos. We had a spectacular neighborhood party in the evening Hosted by Nia and her husband. There was plenty of food, including cheesecake, and lots of fire works. My son Robby took lots of video of the fireworks which has been uploaded to my YouTube account here, http://www.youtube.com/user/b3stbuddy. Pictures of the fireworks can be found here, http://lifeonthecurb.com/photos as well. Just click on the Holidays menu item. Happy New Year!
A Utah college student illegitimately bid on 22000 acres of wildlife land in Utah to protect it from exploitation by oil and gas companies. The auction was spearheaded by the Bush administration, and rushed out in order to have the land auctioned off before they left office. Ironically, because they were in such a hurry to proceed with the auction, they did not check to see if the bidders were appropriately bonded. Apparently, the auction officials did not even have the right to auction much of the land in question.

Yesterday my wife and I were the most important participants of a traditional indian marriage ceremony. I’ve uploaded pics to the new photo gallery for any that are interested. http://lifeonthecurb.com/photos. My thanks goes out to my Amie’s parents, brother and other in-laws who put together such a spectacular ceremony for us. Special thanks to Jay, Prahlad and Girish for being so supportive and making me feel comfortable. Also, I was very happy that my uncle Bobby was able to Join us as well. To my sons, Robby and Solomon, you looked great during the Reception and I hoped you enjoyed watching your dad on the dancefloor. Judy and Li, thanks for coming out. I know a lot must be on your minds in preperations for your future move. Our best wishes go out to you both, oh and your gift is perfect for our kitchen. Vijay and family, thank you for you presence. I was very glad you could make it. Miguel, you have some great dance moves. Have you applied to Soul Train? Oh wait, that was like 15 years ago or something. Seriously, it was really great to see you and your family there.
One of the guests Damon, my friend since early childhood, was able to take some memorable pictures and video that can be found here, http://www.flickr.com/photos/damonjasso/sets/72157610495782356/show/. Possibly I will be posting some videos on my youtube channel as well, http://www.youtube.com/user/b3stbuddy. The DJ was more than I expected and a terrific singer. I hope everyone had a great time. Everyone who came made this a night to remember for Amie and I.
My father in law introduced to me to a revolutionary new product, “Creamy Snuff”. I couldn’t understand what he was telling me when I was asking him what the name of it was, or maybe I didn’t want to understand. The ingredients on the back reads, “Tobacco in sufficient quantity”. No, I’m not kidding.
Apparently, it has some kind of medicinal property.
